My original grate would not draw enough air for the fire to really burn. I could not figure out why until I bought this grate. This grate is higher, with 4.5 inches of clearance (about 3'' for the old one) and lets the fire breath much better. Love it and will buy another one when needed.

Fireplace Grate
Love it. Works much better than the grate that came with my fireplace. It sits higher and draws much better, which produces much more heat from the fireplace.
Heavy Duty Grate
This heavy duty grate has a good clearance making it easy to clean out ashes underneath. The bars are high enough in the front to stop logs from rolling out.
